Yuletide

 The Storm rumbles on each night as the air grows colder.  Despite this harshness, there is mirth about. The convergence is giving rise to new traditions and shared culture.

The Wayfarers have long honored Yuletide with hunts and festivals, and the sharing of specialty goods. As a time of peace and celebration, all Trade Princes have prohibited violence of any kind until the roads clear and their people have had their fill of alcohol and sweets.

The Knights of the Wave have shared their tradition of Brightest Night with the survivors of the new age, and each various cultural group is taking up traditions of their own in homage to this shared spirit.

The Protectorate is plotting a festival of lights, demonstrating their access to electricity with a display through the streets and rooftops.

Downtowners compete to complete Big Nick’s Run, the enigmatic route of a legendary courier.

Transcendence Incorporated is unfamiliar with anything traditionally considered “celebratory”, but rumor circulates that they have somehow weaponized tinsel and created flying reindeer. Many scientists are using this opportunity to showcase their latest creations by delivering and marketing them to children, as a means of proving to the powers that be that they are a worthy investment.  Grants are awarded for the best-selling or best-reviewed items.

L.E.A.P. embraces the tradition of storytelling by inviting people of all factions to join them in the library for a grand time of telling tales of heroics past, of friends lost and found, and anything and everything worth telling. They are hosting a story competition, and the winner will receive an impressive prize.

The Trackers give thanks to the land for providing them with the materials and blessings needed for their survival. In contrast to Open Season, Winter marks "The Great Foraging," in which participants are tasked with collecting the most nuts, berries, meat, etc. to sustain the oneself through the winter. Like many traditions among the Trackers, this holiday can turn competitive. Overt stealing isn’t out of the question as individuals attempt to establish their superiority. Those that withdraw from the contest find themselves the target of numerous gifts from some of the strongest Trackers as each tries to out preform the other with to “win” at generosity. All Trackers come together to acknowledge those who can best provide for their fellow Trackers.

Codex choirs bearing the customary arms and colors of their faction travel from outpost to outpost, bearing the frightening conditions outside, to sing hymns of various saints. They stay just long enough to finish a song before moving on, though they graciously accept any offers of food or hot drinks as momentary respite from their exultations.
